Studio

There is something profoundly special, dare I say sacred, about the space you give yourself to create art. Whether living at my parents or now after moving out, I always keep my desk prepared for incoming ideas. I prefer tidy order on my desk - not a blank state that creates pressure, but a (mostly) empty desk surrounded by my favorite art supplies begging to be put to paper.

For me, any chance of having a consistent art practice stems from having the studio. It's shelves that hold art supplies, boxes that hold valuable scraps, a library full of art and science books, prints from my favorite artists that line the walls. It began with my workspace: a desk, sketchbook, and pencil. But that workspace has expanded as my practice has. Like having access to a gym equipped with the best machines and tools doesn't make you a body builder, the same can be said of a fully stocked studio. Discipline is also an essential ingredient. I have to make an effort to prioritize the pursuit to my inner child, to the spirit of untapped curiosity.

This studio is my playground and my safe space to try new things while honing in my skills.

I hope in the future to eventually open my space to invite people to create with me, but that's for another time.

Thank you for reading this far and for your support <3
